STAFF REPORT PEW: A seminar was held for brainstorming and exchange of ideas in order to improve the efficiency of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO). The title of the event was “How to turn around PESCO” and various technocrats from energy management and power sector as well as policy makers were present on the occasion.


Chairman Board of Directors, PESCO, Muhammad Asad Khan stressed on the need of improvement of the organizations performance on multiple aspects so to constitute it as a consumer-oriented company.


The participants gave valuable input by tending various proposals to increase PESCO efficiency those involved public-private partnerships and many more invaluable ideas to foster the organization and shape it to a Par Excellence.


The challenges incurred by PESCO like political interference, law and order deterring situation, and line losses were thoroughly discussed amidst the seminar.


The inter-provincial coordination in energy sector is also imperative to give the power a breather. The circular debt is also one of the major challenges and defaulter organizations must be striped sternly in order to yield robust results.
