Staff Report IBD: Telenor Pakistan has planned to set up Mobile Apps Labs in major universities under its 2012 programme to train and promote local apps developers at national and international levels.
Usman Sheikh, Telenors Executive, disclosed this at a bloggers meeting recently held in Karachi.
He said that Telenor under its youth strain Djuice will involve faculties of uncommon universities to motivate their students for apps development.
The universities come up with maximum number of apps in the Apportunity 2012 competition will be equipped with Apple hardware as reward so more apps developers and their applications will be coming on local and international platform.
Presently, Djuice is working with SZABIST and UET actively on such project, he added.
He announced the launch of mobile applications development competition “Apportunity 2012: App Mein Kitna Ha Dum” for students and software developers aimed at promoting youngsters talent and local content at global and national level on renowned platform of Apple iOS, Google Android and Nokia Symbian.
Under this programme, Telenor will help developers in getting their apps published on app stores including Nokia, OVI, Google market place, and Apple app store.
