Urdu Science Board (USB) arranged a lecture to highlight causes and effects of climate change on human life.

According to a press release, in his keynote lecture, Ch Muhammad Aslam, Director Pakistan Meteorological Department, said smoke emitted from vehicles and factories, toxic gases, deforestation and other natural and human factors were the main causes of climate change and global warming, consequently causing the increase in weather intensity, rise in sea level, dreadful natural disasters, critical diseases and agriculture, ecosystem and food.
He shared an interesting fact that Balochistan, having low air pressure, was a strategic area in our region that caused monsoon system of rain not only in Pakistan but also in India during the period from June to September every year.
Dr Nasir Abbas Nayyar, Director General USB, said unfortunately in our society, only social and political issues were being focused neglecting the environmental issues.
