STAFF REPORT LHR: The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) held a 5th consultative session on water security issues at Peshawar. The session comprised of experts, technocrats, academicians, water security professionals, and policy makers in order to identify areas of improvement in water perspective and review the progress made and set new targets.


Tending to on the event, WAPDA Chairman Zafar Mahmood informed the members that these consultative sessions are being orchestrated to collaborate with partners and specialists to settle proposals for the Prime Ministers drives on water security.


He dilated that our life relies on water, including that water needs have been expanding quickly because of quick populace development. In spite of diminishing per capita water accessibility in Pakistan, we have been squandered being used of water in varying backgrounds, he deplored. There is a desperate need to contemplate water issues, which keep on getting confounded with every passing day, the Chairman included.


KP Planning and Development Department Secretary Zafar Ali Shah communicated his perspectives on water management while Small Dams Director General Mujahid Saeed made suggestions about surges and dry spells. Dr. Rashid Rehan from UET Peshawar informed the session on water quality.
