Zero Billion and Incubator hosts first ever Hackathon

STAFF REPORT LHR: With an objective to promote innovation in the rapidly growing IT industry and earn recognition for Pakistan in the international market, the Zero Billion and Incubator Pakistan, in collaboration with MoSync AB, a Swedish company, has recently hosted the first of its kind mobile application Hackathon here.
MoSynac AB has developed a tool to develop cross platform mobile applications, named as MoSync and rewarded the top 3 entries out of the 100 developers who participated in the Hackathon and developed mobile apps using MoSync cross platform mobile application development tool.
Zero Billion, as the pioneering mobile application marketing and enterprise mobility solution provider company in Pakistan, in collaboration with Incubator Pakistan envisions holding more Hackathons to promote startup culture and empower local IT workforce. Hackathon is usually a one day activity in which developers try to innovate using a specific technology.
The event provided a good opportunity to learn MoSync SDK and the local talent got to learn about latest trends in mobile apps market. The apps that stood out and got the prizes were:
According to the results, the first prize (Nokia Lumia 800) went to Usman Ur Rehman Ahmed for Earth Quake Explorer second prize (HTC Desire HD) to Safwan Ahmed for Game Engine for MoSync while the third prize (iPOD Touch) was secured by Jawad Ahmed for Unit Conversion app for engineers.
