2 days Innovative Summit Baluchistan began in Quetta

A two day 4th Invention to Innovative Summit Baluchistan began at the University of Baluchistan in Quetta. The title of summit’s theme is “Buy and Sell technology”.

2 days Innovative Summit Baluchistan began in QuettaGovernor Baluchistan, Justice (retd) Amanullah Yasinzai formally inaugurated the summit. Technology exhibition, technical sessions, workshops and competitions are also the part of the 4th innovative summit.

Researchers, scientists and academia will submit solutions to local problems of Baluchistan linked with agriculture, water, livestock, information and communication technology, mines and minerals, food and horticulture and social innovative and SDGS during the summit.

Irrigation Minister Nawabzada Tariq Magsi, addressed the participants of the summit that Baluchistan is loaded with natural resources having large deposits of hydrocarbons and metallic minerals. It has huge potential for development of agriculture, especially fruits, vegetables, fisheries and livestock.

Particularly coastal areas, the Gwadar Port, gives great opportunities for socio-economic development of the province, as well as the whole country.

He pointed out that “the need to build water tanks is being felt more than ever with every passing day”. Availability of water for agriculture, industry and even for household is reducing and if remedial actions are not taken it is obvious that soon we may become a water stressed country.

He highlighted that now, countries around the world have developed strategies and adopted smart technologies to handle situation of reducing and rare water resources. He said, the present government is conscious of water conservation needs and its management besides construction of large dams as being part of the solution.

He requested the researchers and engineers to bring out smart ideas and advise new technologies for productive areas especially agriculture, water and livestock, enhancing the irrigation efficiency and water productivity.

At the end, minister said that he was sure this summit will provide a useful platform for entrepreneurs, scientists and academia of Baluchistan to share its strategy, innovative ideas, policies and plans with development partners and other participants for constructive discussions and fruitful outcomes.
