STAFF REPORT PSH: Chairman, Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), Dr Manzoor Hussein Soomro, has said that promotion of science and technology is inevitable for the development of any country.
“Pakistan is an agricultural country and its 70 per cent population is directly and indirectly related to the sector. For the development of the sector the utilisation of modern technology is need of the hour,” Dr. Soomro said this while addressing a recently held two-day training workshop on ‘Project Formulation’ here.
He stressed the need for promotion of science and research for economic and social development of the country.
Those present on the occasion were Vice Chancellor, Agricultural University, Dr Khan Bahadar Marwat; Chief Scientific Officer, (PSF), Fahat Rajper; Deputy Director, PASTIC, Peshawar and Deputy Director, PSF, Mehboob Khan while a large number of scientists from across the KPK and students of the local universities.
The PSF Chairman said that agricultural has a huge share in the economy and it should be strengthened on strong footings through giving it a special attention.
Addressing the participants, the Vice Chancellor, Agricultural University, highlighted the details of the development schemes of his institution while Farhat Rajper apprised the audience on the future planning of PSF.
