NAVTTC forms task forces for teachers training

STAFF REPORT IBD: The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) has constituted Task Forces in all the provinces including Islamabad, AJK and Gilgit Baltistan for swift implementation on the in-service training programme of 10,000 TVET teachers.
According to details, these Tasks Forces, formed during a day-long workshop recently held here, have been formed to implement the MoU already signed between NAVTTC and GIZ for TVET Reforms Support Programme in Pakistan. Under the agreement, there are number of ongoing reform activities meant for implementation of the National Skills Strategy. These reforms include accreditation of 1,000 TVET institutes, development of National Qualification Framework (NQF), development of curricula in 60 trades, capacity building of 100 Master Trainers and skill development of 100,000 youth in market-based skills.
Director General (PandD), NAVTTC, ShahRukh Nusrat, told the workshop that the teachers training cannot be compromised at any stage of its delivery.
“Whether it is a matter of curricula, institution or teachers, quality in every aspect has immense importance which can only be achieved by installing a systematic, flexible and robust mechanism of hiring qualified teachers,” he maintained.
He revealed that in order to attract qualified and competent teachers in TVET sector, the NAVTTC has evolved “National Teachers Qualification Framework (NTQF)” in consultation with all TVET stakeholders in the country.
