STAFF REPORT LHR: The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centres (SKMCHandRC) science fair Eureka 2012 has concluded. Purpose of the event was to provide opportunities to young scientists across the country to share ideas, showcase innovative science projects and promote creativity among the students.
About 80 projects in the category of Sustainable Energy for All qualified for the grand finale this year. Prof Dr Arjumand Iqbal Durrani, UET, Lahore, Prof Dr Nikhat Khan, Kinnaird College, Lahore, and Prof Dr Sufiyan Aslam, F.C. College University, were jury members on this occasion. They all appreciated the efforts of the Hospital for organizing such a healthy event that provided a great opportunity to the youth of Pakistan, enabling them to present their creative abilities and finally becoming a source of motivation for their future.
Dr Faisal Sultan, CEO, SKMCHandRC, distributed prizes and certificates among the successful participants. He commended the efforts of the students and appreciated their scientific thought. He said that education is important for the progress of any nation but it was the innovative ability of its people that made it great.
