The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) funded Scholarships for Postgraduate Students for Developing Countries  to study at German universities – 2013-2014

Scholarship can be taken at: Germany Eligibility: Age limit: 36 years of age at the time of application (for some courses 32 years) Degree: Bachelor or Master GPA: min 2.75 for Master candidates and 3.00 for Doctoral candidates Work experience: at least two years after completing Bachelor degree. Language skill: For postgraduate courses held in English request an international TOEFL (minimum score: 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based) or IELTS (band 6). Certain level of German language exam may be required before admission to the course. Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries:Developing Countries Scholarship Description: The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) – Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst – supports a range of postgraduate courses at German universities which aim at providing academically educated young professionals from Developing Countries with further specialized studies. At the end of the course (programs run 12 to 36 months, depending on the particular institution) participants can obtain an internationally recognized Masters or in some courses PhD degree. How to Apply: Online Scholarship Applications Dates and Deadlines Scholarship applicants from developing countries (on the DAC List of the OECD) can apply at the German embassy or DAAD regional office, directly at the DAAD in Bonn or directly to the university. The general closing dates for applications are as follows: German Embassy/DAAD Regional Office: 31st July DAAD in Bonn: 31st August University: 30th September or 15th October Applicants should be sure to check information regarding application closing dates directly with the individual universities  because they may vary from the general deadlines listed above. The selection process generally takes place at the universities in the period from November to February. Scholarships are usually awarded for the following winter semester.
