STAFF REPORT KHI: Carrying on the legacy of spreading awareness among youth, YES – Youth Empowering Spaces – in collaboration with the Mehran University Jamshoro has recently held a seminar for university students.

YES is a project of Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh, which is being implemented in collaboration with the Habib University Foundation.

Around 700 eager students attended the seminar. Besides students, a number of faculty members attended the seminar among whom Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, Registrar; Atta Ur Rahman Memon, Coordinator Directorate of Students’ Affairs Department; and Prof. Dr. Farman Ali Shah, Chemical Engineering Department were prominent. The participants appreciated the efforts of YES-team in their feedback.

Aiming at the proper use of IT technology, the facilitators, Nooruddin Merchant and Ismail Kudvavi provided the youth a peek into the vast world of opportunities open to them via the internet.

Onr the occasion, the YES-team introduced the innovative ways of becoming the 21st century learner by using technology for career building, open source learning opportunities and opportunities in social media applications. YES-team also oriented the participants about various projects for the welfare of youth being run by YES and invited them to join YES to become a part of these projects.
