THE FEDERAL government should lift the ban on YouTube. Many people, especially students, are suffering because of this ban. Some of these students seek YouTube help to complete their academic assignments. Would it not be better to educate people to inculcate self-discipline and self-control so that they restrain themselves from watching the movie in question? The government should adopt a proper regulatory mechanism to handle such a situation in future. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority should immediately sign a contract with YouTube to avoid another blanket blockade. It is quite strange that when many countries have signed a contract with YouTube, Pakistan has done no such thing. Indeed, we are living in international social isolation in many areas, the effect of which is ultimately borne by the citizens.
