STAFF REPORT IBD: There is an urgent need to bring research quality at par with the international standards and it can be possible only if researchers concentrate on the problem solving approach.

“The researchers should urged the participants to take guidance from the PSF experts in formulating the fund winning quality proposals,” said Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) Chairman Prof. Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro while addressing the inaugural session of a two-day workshop on Project Formulation at University College of Agriculture (UCA), University of Sargodha.

PSF in collaboration with the University of Sargodha organized the workshop with the purpose of developing the research proposal writing skills of scientists working in different public sector universities and RandD organizations in central Punjab.

On the occasion, Dr. Soomro explained the role of PSF in popularization and advancement of science.

He also spoke on the current trends of research in the field of agricultural sciences and guided researchers to formulate research proposals focused on the need of farmer.

In his remarks, Sargodha University Vice-Chancellor Dr. M. Akram highlighted the contribution of PSF towards encouraging new scientists and researches especially in the field of agriculture. He termed the works a historic day in the life of new scientist of the central Punjab.

Dean Faculty of the, University, Dr. Afzal urged the participants to take full advantage of workshop and learn valuable techniques of formulating the quality project proposals.
