NED University of Engineering and TechnologySTAFF REPORT KHI: The Department of Urban and Infrastructure Engineering in NED University of Engineering and Technology has received a research grant of Rs 0.525 million from Pak Hy-Oils Limited to investigate rutting resistance of Polymer Modified Asphalt (PMA) in flexible pavements.

Iqbal Saeed, Chief Operating Officer, Pak Hy-Oils Limited, presented the cheque of first installment to Prof. Dr. M. Afzal Haque, Vice Chancellor NED University, at a ceremony.

On the occasion, Dr. Afzal acknowledged Pak Hy-Oils Limited for trusting the intellectual value of NED University. He remarked that the NED University is keen in carrying out such research activities and solve industry problems using the expertise available on campus.

Prof. Sarosh Lodi, Dean (Civil and Architecture Engineering), appreciated the industry for their futuristic vision and assured Pak Hy-Oils of full support and cooperation from his faculty.

Prof. Dr. Mir Shabbar Ali, Chairman Department of Urban and Infrastructure Engineering, highlighted role of his department in the highway materials research, and the endeavors of Construction Materials Research Group (CMRG) to foster the industry linkage activities.

On the occasion, Prof. Adnan Qadir, Co-Chairman of Urban and Infrastructure Engineering Department, presented technical highlights of the research proposal through which an agreement has been signed between the Pak Hy-Oils Limited and Department of Urban and Infrastructure Engineering.
