UVASSTAFF REPORT LHR: A short course on “Biostat and Data Analysis Methodologies”, arranged by the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, attracted faculty members and researchers from over a dozen of universities and other institutes from Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad and Gujrat.
The course organized by the Biostatistical Consulting Centre of the UVAS under the Pakistan-US Science and Technology Cooperation Programme. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the concluding ceremony and distributed certificates among the participants.
As many as 33 faculty members and researchers from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Gujrat University Gujrat, Lahore College for Women University Lahore, Punjab University Lahore, UVAS Lahore, University of Lahore, King Edward Medical University Lahore, University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore, Fatima Memorial College Lahore, Services Hospital Lahore, Ace Institute Lahore, National Agricultural Research Centre Islamabad, Punjab Institute of Cardiology Lahore successfully completed the training course.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Dr Shagufta Naz from the LCWU, said that at the training session they had learnt many new techniques of data analysis, new software and statistical tests used in scientific research.
The VC urged the graduating trainees to share with their colleagues and research students the knowledge and data analysis skills they learnt during the training.
