PARC, IRRI join h and s to promote rice farming

GD7408539@Food-series-Rice-grow-6118STAFF REPORT LHR: The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) of Philippines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote rice and rice-based farming systems in the country.

According to a press release issued by the PARC, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad, Chairman PARC, and Dr. Achim Dobermann, DDGR (IRRI) Philippine signed this MoU at the Councils headquarter in Islamabad.

The MoU will strengthen cooperation among Pakistani and IRRI rice scientists. High priority will be given to improve biotic and abiotic and breeding material exchange.

Under the MoU, the two countries will promote research regarding rice-based farming while information regarding rice farming will also be exchanged between the two countries.
