STAFF REPORT IBD: Ambassador of Tajikistan Sherali S. Jononov has assured to provide his full support to strengthen ties with Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation (ECOSF)and undertake planned activities within the scope of already agreed priorities as well as targets.
He gave this assurance during his recent meeting with ECOSF Founder President Prof. Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro who called on the ambassador at the Tajik embassy.
During the meeting both the personalities also discussed areas of mutual interest as well as of the targets of the newly established regional organization ECOSF.
The ECOSF President briefed the Ambassador about plans of ECOSF and invited the Ambassador to extend his governments cooperation to implement the work plan of the newly established ECO regional organizations.
The ECOSF has been established as a specialized agency of ECO and functions as a reservoir of highly skilled scientific and technical human resource and facilitates promotion of scientific research and development among the Member States.
Prof. Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro has been assigned to take the responsibilities of founder President of ECOSF in June this year.
It may be recalled that Tajikistan is among the first ratifying members of the ECO including Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The direction and conduct of the ECOSF is vested in its Board of Trustees comprising the Ministers for Science and Technology of the Member States.
