HEC confers awards on 32 researchers


STAFF REPORT IBD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Wednesday conferred awards on 32 outstanding researchers at the 3rd Outstanding Research Awards ceremony for the years 2010 and 2011.


The researchers were given awards in five categories including Best Research Paper, Best Young Research Scholar, Best Innovator, Best Book Publication, and Lifetime Academic Achievement, says a press release issued here.


Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid conferred awards on outstanding teachers.


Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, Executive Director HEC and Dr Mazhar Saeed, Director General (RandD) HEC, were also present on the occasion.


The minister requested the researchers to pay attention towards those areas, which can contribute to the development of the region in which their institution is located. The existence of a university must be visible by its integration with the local community and universities must have role in community
