MONITORING REPORT IBD: Pakistan participated in the 4-day exhibition recently arranged as a regular event on the sideline of the 57th general conference of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at Austria, Vienna, says a press release.


According to reports from Vienna, Pakistan exhibited the peaceful use of nuclear science and technology to the international community. The opportunity was utilized to promote soft image of Pakistan. The capabilities and achievements were exhibited at an impressive stall which is the center of interest due to its colorful and diverse display under the theme “Colours of Pakistan.”


The visitors were impressed by the contribution of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) in the field of nuclear medicine, agriculture, nuclear power, engineering design and manufacturing and human resource development.


Also there is a display of the role of Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) in nuclear safety and security beside technical co-operation and human resource development.


At the exhibition, Director General IAEA, Yukiya Amano, visited the Pakistani stall and appreciated the attractive arrangement of the stall. The exhibition team explained about various items depicting the applications of nuclear science and techniques to agriculture, nuclear medicines and other allied areas in Pakistan.


The Director General, IAEA, was impressed by the achievements made by Pakistan in area of peaceful applications of nuclear technology and the display at IAEA rotunda.
