STAFF REPORT PSH: The World Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan (WWF-Pakistan) has signed an MoU with Wahdat Farms in order to promote the use of organic fertilizer for better crop yield at WWFs head office at Ferozepur Road.


The MoU was signed by Ali Hassan Habib, Director General, WWF-Pakistan, and Aurangzeb Khan, Managing Director, Wahdat Enterprises.


“We are determined to promote organic fertilizers in agriculture as they are environmental friendly. A small percentage proceeds of the sale of Organic Power will support conservation efforts of WWF-Pakistan,” said Anwar Naseem, Senior Director Operations, WWF-Pakistan, on the occasion.


Both the sides hoped to boost environmental activities throughout the country and believed that this agreement will eventually lead to better farming practices, increased output and a healthier environment.


In his remarks, Aurangzeb Khan said that their innovation will prove to be a breakthrough in agriculture, theres just a need to create awareness among farmers. For that purpose opinion leaders and influential people of the areas should play their role by guiding farmers regarding the advantages of using organic fertilizer.


Organic fertilizers are a naturally rich organic amendment used for improving the performance of all types of soils. It contains no synthetic chemicals; its naturally occurring nutrients are derived slowly from the raw material used in the production.
