MONITORING REPORT IBD: Chinese company, Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), has evinced keen interest in the upcoming energy projects in Pakistan and assured its continued support in hydel, coal, wind and solar energy projects.

Chen Fei, the President of the CTG, said this while talking to Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif who met him during his recent visit to China.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on enhancing collaboration in the energy sector. It is to be mentioned here that the CTG is working on five power generation projects including two hydropower, two wind power and one solar power project in Pakistan.

The minister hoped that CTG will complete their ongoing projects in Pakistan as early as possible. Khawaja Asif said that CTG has vast experience in energy generation through hydel and alternative energy sources.

He hoped that CTG will fully apply its vast experience to mitigate the energy crisis in Pakistan. The minister invited CTG to undertake a comprehensive survey of suitable locations in Pakistan for setting up wind farms.
