STAFF REPORT IBD: Pakistan, being the 6th most populous country in the world, is faced with complex problems, including food insecurity and a large yield gap between the rich and poor resource poor farmers.

There is a desperate need to adopt science based agriculture at the national level in order to meet the constantly growing food, fiber and fodder demands in Pakistan.

Speakers expressed these views at a two-day workshop titled “National Dialogue on Biotechnology and Bio-Safety for Food and Food Security in Pakistan and Capacity Building Workshop for Representatives of IBC Members and Media Practitioners” held recently in the federal capital.
