STAFF REPORT IBD: In a bid to enhance scientific co-operation between Pakistan and France and to encourage future joint research that will contribute to promote the rich and diverse heritage of the country, an international seminar “French Contribution to Pakistan Studies” has recently been arranged in Islamabad.
More than 15 French scholars, besides Pakistanis scholars participated and presented their research papers at the seminar, organized by the French Embassy in Pakistan, in collaboration with QAU.
Purpose of the event was to disseminate the major achievements made by French scholars in collaboration with other European and Pakistani experts. Five main themes including Paleontology, Archaeology of the Indus civilisation, Islamic Archaeology, Society and culture in the colonial and post-colonial period and contemporary studies were discussed at length in seminar.
On the occasion, French Ambassador to Pakistan Philippe Thiebaud said both the countries would continue co-operating in the field of research for better understanding the culture and heritage of the Pakistani civilisation for benefit of both.
Dr Masoom also lauded France support in the field of research study.
