STAFF REPORT KOHAT: The 8th Convocation of the Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) has recently been held at the university campus where graduating students were awarded degrees and gold medals.


Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukatullah Khan presided over the proceedings as a chief guest.


In his remarks, Vice Chancellor KUST Prof. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak said that the university has been striving hard to impart quality education to the young generation of the Kohat division and other parts of the country.


He said that providing education to the youth is their duty, as only through education the country would be able to make progress and effectively meet all the challenges it faces today.


He reiterated that no stone will be left unturned to provide students excellent opportunities for learning and to make KUST a great seat of learning in the region. “We have done a remarkable job during a short of period of twelve years since the establishment of the varsity in 2002”, he added.


The governor and the VC gave away gold medals to 34 students for their outstanding performance in the respective fields. He also awarded degrees to the graduating students. A documentary produced by the department of Journalism and Mass Communication was also screened reflecting the past and present of the varsity.
