STAFF REPORT KHI: US-based Princeton Environment Group (PEG) has signed an MoU with the Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) to generate power from solid waste at Karachi.

Under the agreement, both the parties will explore avenues to expand the scope of this MoU not only to support that project but would also identify more avenues for the mutual cooperation in the same sector. Under the MoU, the Sindh government would facilitate PEG for visa assistance; provide landfill site, relevant documents and office support for conducting feasibility study.

Whereas PEG would initiate detailed feasibility study on required designs for power generation, utilization of solid waste through thermal oxidation including stoker combustion and gasification in Karachi with no cast to Sindh government.
