Skill-based edu, tech training starts


STAFF REPORT LHR: The University of the Punjab has launched a one-year study programme in collaboration with the Virtual University (VU) of Pakistan and Technical University Kaiserslautern, Germany, as part of pre-service training for technical and vocational education teachers. The programme will offer bachelors in education (BEd) qualification in technical education.The VU will be providing a learning management system offering an online self-learning experience.

The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) will implement the programme. A training workshop was arranged for instructors at the Davis Road campus of the VU. Uwe Wieckenberg, a German consultant for the workshop, and Ehsen Puri, the VU information and communication technology director, were part of the workshop.
