Staff Report LHR: A physics poster exhibition has recently held at the Government College University (GCU) Lahore on the second day of the international conference on “Physics and Contemporary Needs”.

The event was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleequr Rahman.

“The poster exhibition was a unique feature of the world science conferences at the GCU, and those young scholars, who did not get a chance to read their papers at this event due to shortage of time, presented their paper in the form of posters,” said Prof Rahman.

He said that these poster exhibitions did not only increase the presentation skills of researchers but also provided them a chance to discuss scope of their research with the eminent national and foreign scientists.

He said that Pakistani students had a great potential and they were doing quality research, which was at par with international standards.

Prof Rahman emphasized for mutual collaboration between the research and development organisations, departments and universities, saying that it was not possible for single department to have all the necessary equipment and research facilities.

Dr Zakria Butt, the conference chairman and Prof. Rafi Chair, said that more than 30 eminent physicists from all over Pakistan also read their papers at the four technical sessions of the conference on the second.
