STAFF REPORT ISB: Pakistan has surplus wheat and presently is looking for markets to export the surplus commodity as the country is potentially expecting a bumper crop this year.

He expressed hope that the wheat output target will be achieved. Bosan said that

“In the global market prices of wheat and rice are decreasing while in Pakistan prices of wheat and rice are high because our cost of production is high in the country,” said Federal Minister for National Food Security Sikandar Hayat told the media.

Earlier, he addressed the two-day conference on livestock and dairy development organized by the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore.

Responding to a question, he said that the wheat target will be achieved this year with the grace of Almighty Allah and we have sufficient wheat in stock as well.
