PSC introduces cheaper maize hybrid seed

STAFF REPORT LHR: Punjab Seed Corporation (PSC) has launched the maize hybrid seed (YH-1898) evolved by the corporations breeders in collaboration with researchers of Maize and Millet Research Institute Sahiwal.

Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh was the chief guest at the launching ceremony, who appreciated the efforts by the PSC for developing maize hybrid seed.

He said it is a great achievement, which would not only gear up the growth of agriculture sector, but would also be helpful to restrict the monopoly of multinational companies in Pakistan.

The agriculture experts would be encouraged with awards on such remarkable efforts, in order to increase the yield of major and minor crops for ensuring food security.
