Staff Report ISD: HEC organized five days training workshop on quality assurance, finished at Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS). The HEC has financed various universities for capacity building of their non-teaching staff of BPS-16 and above cadre to promote good governance on campus and to bridge the gap between different stakeholders.
The chief guest Prof Dr Muhammad Aslam, Rector PIEAS admired the Higher Education Commission to provide such platform for learning. He further said that Quality assurance and quality enhancement are necessary part of development and economic prosperity .He also applauded the efforts of Dr Tariq Yasin, course coordinator, for managing the event and activities successfully.
Speaking on the event Fareena Iqbal, from Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi, appreciated the HEC training programmes for enhancement of professional knowledge and skills of administrative staff of the universities. She said the course contents were very relevant and useful for enhancement of quality and improvements of processes in the working environment. She acknowledged that the workshop was very helpful for refreshing the theoretical knowledge and learning through experience sharing.
In the workshop fifteen sessions were conducted on different topics including quality assessment and testing, total quality management, academics integrity, employee involvement, university ranking procedure, research quality assessment in universities, benefits of quality, communication skills of dealing with customers, and benchmarking .The workshop was attended by Fatima Jinnah Women University, Quaid-i-Azam University, National University of Modern Languages, National Institute of Lasers and Optronics and PIEAS .
