HEC starts capacity building programme for provincial colleges

Staff Report ISD: Capacity building of colleges affiliated with public sector universities has been started by mutual efforts of Academic Division, Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Provincial Education Departments.

It is an unprecedented step taken by HEC, by setting up Minimum Quality Standards (MQS) so to bolster the education quality in colleges of Pakistan. This standard will act as a gauging instrument to identify and assess strengths and weaknesses of education.

10 workshops are also conducted by HEC for capacity building of provincial colleges to meet the MQS targets. The workshops were intended for Principals, Vice Principals and Senior Faculty Members of affiliated colleges on different modules. The primary objective of the workshops was to build and train resource persons as Master Trainers in specific fields including Vision- Mission-Goals, Academic and non-academic staff, learning resources and physical infrastructure, organization, community Link Governance an financial management, research, Public Disclosure and transparency, external linkage and outreach.
