STAFF REPORT LHR: A training workshop on “Biomass Gasification Technologies” for Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) was organized by University of Agriculture, Faisalabad with collaboration of Centre for Advanced Studies in Energy and National University of Science and Technology. The objectives of the training session were to equip the participants with advanced technologies and promote the renewable energy being cleaner for sustainable development.


Vice Chancellor of University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmed said while addressing the participants, “Pakistan has a much abundance of agricultural wastes that can be converted into energy by application of advanced technologies. Bioenergy is also able to address environmental issues and escalate sustainable development.


Dr Najma Afzal, Member Provincial Assembly Punjab graced the event as chief guest.. She said that the energy crisis was one of the enormous challenges for the county and government was making utmost efforts to address the issue of energy.


The participants of the event were overwhelmed by the effort and considered is as a great platform for learning and awareness in adaptation of biomass energy using advanced technologies.
