STAFF REPORT ISB: In order to efficiently monitor the climate variabilities and mull strategies and policies accordingly; Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC) has decided to establish a consultative group consisting of high level experts. The junction of experts will act as think tank and assist the Ministry in various copious climate change motivated issues to devise strategies and abet in decision making. Senator Mushahidullah Khan, Federal Minister of Climate Change had issued directives for formation of the consultative group.
“The consultative group on climate change will be responsible to assist the ministry in taking better, viable and pragmatic decisions to reduce country`s vulnerability against climate change-induced disasters, particularly floods, heat waves, shifting rainfall patterns, erratic summer and winter seasons,” Mushahidullah Khan said.
The consultative group will be comprised of 27 members led by Director General of MoCC.
