STAFF REPORT ISB: Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) has joined hands with Government College Women University (GCWU), Sialkot to improve and strengthen scientific infrastructure. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between both the organizations in a ceremony.


Secretary PARC, Dr Munir Ahmad and Vice Chancellor (VU), GCWU, Dr Farhat Saleemi inked the MoU on behalf of respective organizations. The MoU entails cooperation of both organizations in technical, scientific, academic, research and development, capacity building and skill development domains to nurture the scientific pool through backing of industry. The joint seminars, workshops, symposiums, conferences, faculty training programmes, joint SandT researches will be conducted under the agreement. Furthermore, both the organizations will have access to the data, library resources etc. Internship opportunities will also be provided by PARC to the GCWU students.


Dr Munir Ahmad said while speaking on the occasion, “The industry-academia linkages are important component of SandT development and significant in fostering the applicability of the knowledge base produced by academia. This MoU is of significant importance and a new chapter of cooperation will yield viable results for sustainable development through scientific cooperation which will be strengthened with the growing needs”.
