STAFF REPORT RWP: The annual open house in universities is organized to showcase the innovation and creativity of students and familiarize them with the market dynamics. The 8th annual open house of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University (PMAS-AAUR) was held this week.


Dr Rai Niaz Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, PMAS-AAUR was present on the occasion as chief guest. He said while addressing to the participants, “The SandT development and focus on innovation can drive country forward and bring it at par with the developed nations. Youth is required to channelize their energies in SandT fields with dedication and commitment”.


As many as 100 students from University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT), PMAS-AAUR participated in the open house and showcased their projects. The open house provided opportunity to students to extend their interaction with different industrial stakeholders as more than 25 software development companies were invited by the university. The on-spot interviews were also held during the event opening up new employment opportunities for the students.


The open house was a perfect example of solid steps towards academia-industry linkages which is the way forward for creation of knowledge based economy.
