STAFF REPORT ISB: The women play an important role in national development and empowering this fraction of society is imperative to uplift the national economy and utilizing this human capital in productive domains. Australia shares strong bilateral ties with Pakistan and further extending the cooperation; Senior Trade Commissioner of Australian Trade Commission (ATC), Nicola Watkinkson held a meeting with Samina Fazil, President Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) to identify areas in which joint initiatives could be taken especially women empowerment.


Nicola Watkinkson expressed emphatic interest to initiate projects that push women towards entrepreneurship in different fields.


Samina Fazil, speaking on the occasion, said that majority of women in Pakistan are unable to prove their flair due to halting huge social constraints which must be resolved by giving them the highest priority so that they can escalate business and improve their standard of living. IWCCI is committed for women empowerment.


Samina Fazil affirmed that a delegation of women will visit Australia later this year this and participate in a trade fair and hold business meetings with their Australian counterparts.
