STAFF REPORT ISB: The Consultative Committee of the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) emphasized its promise to strengthen the associations SandT projects and exercises amid its third Meeting held in Accra, Ghana, on 26th October 2015.


Fazal Abbas Maken, Secretary Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) led the meeting as Chairperson Consultative Committee. He communicated delight on the robust part being played by COMSATS for South-South Cooperation in different segments of Science and Technology. He unequivocally asked the individuals from the Consultative Committee to adequately bolster COMSATS Centers of Excellence in their particular nations for them to assume their due parts in the national improvement plans of Member States.


Executive Director COMSATS, Dr. I. E. Qureshi, highlighted the elements of COMSATS statutory bodies and in addition the essentialness of the two gatherings, while the Chief Director MESTI, Salimata Abdul-Salam, stretched out warm welcome to the remote members and nation delegates.


The meeting, facilitated by Ghanaian Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), was attended by the representatives of COMSATS Focal Points in 16 Member States, to be specific China, Egypt, Ghana, Iran, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Nigeria, Palestine, Philippines, Pakistan, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe, and in addition Turkey.
