National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS®), Pakistan in collaboration with Department of Biosciences, SZABIST Karachi organized one day seminar on “Young Researchers Skill Development” at Auditorium, SZABIST, Campus 90, Block 5, Clifton, Karachi. The target audience for the event was BS Biosciences (Undergraduate Students).


The program commenced according to the schedule at 10:00 AM with the recitation of Holy Quran. The Chairman, Department of Biosciences (SZABIST), Dr. Kashif Ali delivered a welcome address. It was followed by an introduction of National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS) by NAYS project coordinator, Ms. Tabinda Salman. During this first session, she briefed the audience about the foundation of NAYS and various projects and events undertaken by volunteers in various cities of Pakistan.


Dr. Huma Ikram (Assistant Professor, UoK and NAYS coordinator) delivered first lecture regarding scientific article writing and how to get published in international reputed journals. Mr. Kapeel Kumar (Assistant Professor; IBT) discussed about various points which can help to develop career and emphasized on developing personality as unique and valuable. His talk was followed by another prominent speaker; Kamal Faridi (CEO and Founder; 22 Four Corp.). He gave a viewpoint about entrepreneurship and start-ups in Pakistan and motivated all students to become an entrepreneur. He also discussed funding opportunities and work plan to start any new project. The last speaker of the event was Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah T.I. (Associate Professor; HEJ-ICCBS). He delivered an interesting lecture on Scientific Proposal and Project Writing along with key points to remember during project submission to any funding agency. He also discussed the dos and donts while writing any proposal briefly.


After the scientific session, Dr. Kashif Ali distributed shields of appreciation and souvenirs among the organizing team and guest speakers.
