STAFF REPORT ISB: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has surfaced an agreement with US-based University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW) to establish a Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE) at IIUI.


This emerged out as a consequence of meeting of a two-member UNCW delegation with, President IIUI, Dr Ahmed Yousif Al Draiweesh.


The scope of CTE will be to foster research and development in multiple fields; faculty and students exchange programmes; teachers trainings; community engagement etc.


Al-Draiweesh assured the UNCW delegation of his full support for the initiative and urged for strengthening of relationship through joint endeavors intended for socio-economic development and advancement of science and technology.


This CTE is a stride towards right direction and will reorient the capabilities of faculty which will be utilized for proper dissemination of knowledge to students who will be the prime beneficiary of this project. Apart from this, teachers training are an important aspect on which CTE will focus categorically in order to recognize teachers about their actual responsibilities and how they can become role models for the students.
