STAFF REPORT ISB: President Mamnoon Hussain has said vast opportunities exist for promotion of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Russia in diverse fields.


“Cooperation can be enhanced with Moscow especially in the areas of education, technology,” the president said while talking to Ambassador-designate to Russia Qazi Khalilullah in Islamabad.


He said that both Pakistan and Russian should explore new vistas for peace and prosperity in the region.


The president stated that bilateral relations between the two countries can be further strengthened in fields of education, technology and other multi-dimensional spheres adding that Pakistan Steel Mills was set up with the assistance of Russia in the past and likewise, it is need of the hour to revitalize bilateral ties in the same vein.


The president welcomed Russian investment of $2 billion in energy sector and underscored that Russian entrepreneurs need to be convinced to invest more in the energy sector in Pakistan.


President Mamnoon urged the ambassador to make efforts to further enhance the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries.
