STAFF REPORT LHR: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Energy Research and Development and Chinese Zonergy Company have signed an agreement for a mutual collaboration for development of energy solutions and technologies in Pakistan.


The MoU was signed which is within the domain of mutual expertise and is needed for Pakistan. The MoU will initiate further collaboration for the projects of mutual interest.


Under the agreement, Zonergy will train 10 engineers form the UET for Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Bahwalpur and CERAD-UET will facilitate this training session. The signing ceremony of the MoU was held at the UET University of Engineering and Technology Lahore.


UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Zonergy Company Director Ma Yu and KICS Director Waqar Mahmood attended the ceremony.


In his remarks, the vice chancellor said that Pakistan has a long and strong relationship with China, adding that China has continued to help out Pakistan in every problem.


Currently, the country is facing massive energy crisis and China is working on many projects so in this regard this MoU will facilitate to fulfil the desired quality human resource for solar project of Bahawalpur. The UET vice chancellor also told about the Chinese Center and Chinese Language Training Centers functioning at the university.


On the occasion, Ma Yu explained about their projects to the attendees. He said that how efficiently his company has been working in the field specifically in Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Bahwalpur.
