STAFF REPORT RWP: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).


Under the MoU, both RCCI and PCSIR would jointly explore, initiate and undertake industry/market oriented demand driven research and development projects and other activities for improving exports and research.


PCSIR is providing high quality testing and certifications to the industries and we covered minerals, metals, glass, marble, precious stones, herbal medicines, electronics and textile, he said. He added that businessman and industrialists could avail their services and as a result they could earn good money.


President RCCI Mian Humayun Parvez said that RCCI has been playing its due role in boosting the business activities in the region. Exhibitions, trade delegations and conferences were being held by RCCI to promote local industry in the region.


He expressed the hope that with the collaboration of PCSIR traders and industrialists would improve the quality of their products. He suggested establishing a PCSIR laboratory in Rawalpindi where traders could get their product certified and tested.


On the occasion, Chairman PCSIR Dr. Shahzad Alam said that high quality along with certification was required to boost exports and meet the challenges of global competitors.
