STAFF REPORT ISB: Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) has launched a weekly irrigation advisory service for its trainee farmers to help improve irrigation practices.

PCRWR, a department of Ministry of Science and Technology, has trained around 700 farmers in 2015 under a project called the Watershed Rehabilitation and Irrigation Improvement in Pakistan.

An inventory of trainee farmers was developed for follow-up to ultimately let them adopt informed and improved irrigation practices.

The service is a step towards achieving that objective which informs the farmers about their net weekly irrigation requirements considering evapotranspiration and precipitation.
