Partnership in science, research, development critical for CPEC success
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal said that
scientific collaboration and sharing of Knowledge, research and ideas between Pakistan and
China is critical for success of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and further boost the
historic bilateral cordial relations.
The Minister proposed that we need to undertake joint projects for studying mountains and
coastal areas of Pakistan, said a statement issued by Ministry of Planing, Development and
Reforms here on Wednesday.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Chinese delegation of Academy of Sciences to
have partnership in research on natural hazards like landslides, floods, debris flows and
earthquake between Pakistan and China under CPEC.
While mentioning agreement between Pakistan and China in space technology, he said that
bilateral cooperation between the two countries in space domain would open new vistas of socio-
economic and scientific cooperation.
The Minister directed Pakistan Academy of Sciences and Higher Education Commission to co-
operate with the Chinese Science Academy and organize joint workshops on scientific research
under CPEC.

minister.
He said that we need to develop a very comprehensive roadmap of cooperation in science and
technology sectors between Pakistan and China. The Minister said that cooperation between
Pakistan and China is materializing in the form of solid projects which will add new colors in our
friendship.
He said that regional and economic integration is very significant for the success of the CPEC
projects. The success of CPEC depends on business to business and people to people contacts of
both the countries. CPEC project is the fusion of Pakistan Vision 2025 and China One belt One
Road Vision which will benefit 3 billion people of the region, he added.
The Minister said that CPEC offers a broad partnership in different areas between the two
countries. There is a need to learn from the development of China, and andquot;We should adopt its
model of development how it successfully blended stability, development and reforms,andquot; he said.
