ISLAMABAD: Pakistans flourishing tech industry has launched the first locally developed

digital mapping solution. Called TPL Maps, the software is developed by tracking solutions

provider TPL Trakker Ltd.

As per local media reports, the TPL Map uses state of the art technology, enabling users with

real time routing, live traffic updates, and providing accurate voice navigation tips throughout

the journey.

Ali Jameel, the CEO TPL Trakker, was of the view that the app would bring the power of Maps

to Pakistan businesses, and other sectors of vital importance.

“TPL Maps have been developed indigenously and I firmly believe that these localized mapping

solutions will provide a holistic navigational experience to people all over Pakistan,” said Jameel

in a statement.

“Globally, maps have taken the center stage for e-commerce, fintech, advertising, and games.

This is just the beginning of a new era for technology in the country and we are honored to be in

the driving seat of this change,” he added.

As previously reported, the TPL Maps carries features providing real-time intelligent routing,

live traffic updates, turn-by- turn navigation options and smart search.

However, the thing now is whether the homegrown app would be able to take on the mighty

Google Maps, which is available for both Android and iOS users, and can be downloaded from

Google Play and Apple App Store.
