The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) emphasized that rural communities can be taken out of poverty by the promotion of agriculture and livestock sectors.

He also said having 80% exports linked and the largest proportion of employment in Pakistan. Agriculture serves as the backbone of the economy of Pakistan.

Dr. Murtaza Mughal, President PEW said that despite importance the sector was ignored and not getting attention. He also shared his views saying that the national development is impossible while keeping the development of agriculture neglected that is the backbone of country’s economy.

Dr. Murtaza Mughal also said that last year, the growth of agriculture persisted at the average 2.1% and plunged to 1.6% this reduced production was the contributor of poverty. He also pointed to the fact that milk production is notable Pakistan, the number of cattle increased but not the milk, beef, and mutton production since long.

Livestock can be essential for poverty reduction, human health, and food security the only need is to aware people engaged in this business about the formal economy, he added.
