Senator Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qayyum Khan, Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defense Productions consented that it’s better to have high prices of energy in Pakistan than no energy at all.

The senator added while addressing business leaders at the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FPCCI) that all efforts are lined up for overcoming load shedding issue on a priority basis by promoting renewable and hydel energy projects to limit the prices.

Senator Lt Gen. Red Abdul Qayyum Khan of PML-N reminded that energy crisis has put an almost unending halt to industrial sector in Pakistan. Pakistan has successfully fought militancy up to 70%. He expressed his views while answering questions and said that CPEC will be completed in time. Pakistan has its way forward towards progress. He appreciated the suggestion that appointment tenure will be at least 2 years for Federations and chamber of commerce & industries. This valid suggestion will be conveyed to the government.

Mr. Zubair Tufail, President FPCCI, also demanded the General Abdul Qayyum Khan for bringing their genuine problems to the Government.

He urged for the agreed funds to give them back in this week. The government should offer relief by offering lower electricity and gas rates to the industries. Mr. Zubair emphasized on Exports of Pakistan and said to increase our exports for that electricity rates should be lower.
