Pakistan High Commission London has given a reception to 25 students achiever of government schools from across the Pakistan selected under “Science Talent Farming Scheme (STFS)” project of Pakistan Science Foundation Ministry of Science and Technology, Islamabad.  Each year the “Science Talent Farming Scheme (STFS)” select talented 300 students across Pakistan who have had matriculation from Government schools. The project is a funded entirely by Government.

They have been to London for taking part in the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF).

High Commissioner to London Syed Ibne Abbas congratulated the students on their academic achievements and appreciated their dedication, hard work, and commitment on the occasion. He also said that their knowledge and expertise in scientific fields in future will benefit Pakistan’s economy.

He asked the students about their international exposure individually. After attending LIYSF they were feeling more self-confident, optimistic and informed. The high commissioner highly praised the initiative of the government to focus government schools ensuring equal opportunities to all regions of Pakistan. The project will help them to reach highest degrees i.e. PhD in various scientific disciplines. Students were also offered a scholarship of Rs10,000 per month and the modules also included visits to universities and International Science and Technology organizations.
