Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan, Federal Minister for Climate Change has confirmed support of Ministry of Climate Change to establish climate change consortium under Global Change Impact Study Centre while chairing a meeting on the working of the Global Change Impact Study Centre held at Ministry of Climate Change.

The minister was briefed by a delegation led by Tariq Banuri, Chief Executive, Global Change Impact Study Centre about future strategies for the Global Change Impact Study Centre.

“Ministry of Climate Change will support to make Global Change Impact Study Centre an internationally recognized research institution,” Mushahid Ullah guaranteed. He also said that the government would support in founding a climate change consortium with universities and research institutions. He further accentuated that capacity building of experts of field of climate change would also be heightened.

Federal Minister for Climate Change also valued the starting of Masters’ Program on climate change in different universities of Pakistan.

Experts from Global Change Impact Study Centre informed the minister that farmers must adjust according to new patterns of rain and weather that are changing with every passing day. They also gave information about research conducted in Global Change Impact Study Centre.
