Donate Charity through Google Assistant by Voice Command

Google is kicking off New Year with a good deed by releasing a feature where users can donate charity through Google Assistant simply by voice commands.

Donate Charity through Google Assistant by Voice Command

Google recently rolled out a feature in its last update that will let users make charity donations through the Play Store just by their voice commands, as spotted by 9to5Google.

The voice-controlled donations can be completed in no time with the help of Google’s smart assistant on any of the device, including smartphones running on Android 5.0 Lollipop or later, Google Home smart speakers, and smart displays.

In order to make donations, user has to enable Google Assistant Payments that permits them to make all types of purchases and reservations through voice. After making sure it’s enabled, the person would simply have to call out, “Hey Google, donate to charity”, or “OK Google, make a donation”.

User can also call out commands including specific figures to donate such as, “OK Google, donate $10 to charity”.

After it is done, Google Assistant will then ask users their name and the organization they wish to donate to. Finally, the user would be asked to confirm their details and Google will make the donation through the user’s linked account where the user has already added a credit/debit card, delivery address, and approval method such as password and fingerprint.

A similar feature was introduced back in 2017 by Amazon for its voice assistant Alexa.
